Mechanical accessories for forging parts

Sleeves and counter-casting

Sleeves and counter-casting are produced with quenched and tempered steels. Each sleeve is developed on specific client design according to the following procedures:

  1. Mechanical machining on numeric-controlled lathes;
  2. Milling and development, if required, of a thermo-regulation circuit;
  3. Hardening and tempering to obtain hardness value between 44 and 48 HRC;
  4. Grinding on automated machines;
  5. Surface coating forming an anti-seizure and anti-metalization surface layer;
  • Gaseous nitriding
  • Ionic nitriding
  • NipreŽ Surface treatment or NipreŽ Duplex

Plugs - Taps - Cores - Telescopes

Omnia Press produces plugs, taps, cores, telescopes and many spare parts for pressure casting dies using quenched and tempered steels.

Together with traditional steels, such as X38CrMoV5-1 and X40CrMoV5-1, Omnia Press produces these highly stressed components using the following steel: QRO 90 - Uddeholm S.p.A.
Machining is performed on numeric-controlled lathes and on working centres. Grinding is performed on numeric-controlled machines in order to grant the required tolerance values.

The plugs, taps, cores, sleeves and telescopes can be supplied in a hardened and tempered condition or with surface thermochemical coatings:

  • Gaseous nitriding;
  • Ionic nitriding with plasma;
  • Nipre®;
  • P.V.D., C.V.D., P.A.C.V.D. ( Chromium nitride, Zirconium nitride or multi-layer coatings );

Each product is developed on client design.
